PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The HMR Pro Rifle uses the Bergara Premier Action which is designed as a two-lug system that features a separate floating bolt head to ensure contact with the lug abutments in the action. It also features a cone-shaped bolt nose for smooth feeding of the cartridge, and a spring-loaded sliding plate extractor. The one-piece bolt body is stainless steel with a pad at the rear to accept the threaded-in bolt handle. The bolt head, the non-rotating gas shield, the bolt handle, and bolt shroud are fully Nitrided for extreme durability, as well as its self-lubricating properties. The two-position safety is part of the trigger assembly, which in the HMR Pro rifle is a TriggerTech Frictionless Release Technology. One great feature of this combination allows the bolt handle not to lock in the closed position, which in turn allows the rifle to be unloaded while in the safe position. This .308 Winchester model has a 20" threaded barrel which is also compatible with Remington 700 style rings and bases. It has a detachable magazine.

Beautiful rifle, great service from simmons
Posted by JohnI don't even live in louisiana but have gotten in the habit of checking simmons sporting goods if there is something i know i want. I had zeroed in on the bergara hmr premier after a long period of research, and looked around to see who had one in stock. Simmons had five in stock at a slightly lower price than anyone else. And free shipping. Done deal. Bought from simmons. Fast shipping put it at my ffl in just a few days, despite being over a holiday. I added talley rings and a trijicon ten mile 24x. The weight is light, the action is as smooth as glass. This is the most accurate rifle i have ever owned. Most beautiful too. One caution would be the trigger tech trigger. I love it but i wonder if newer shooters would find it a touch light. I didn't measure it, but it feels like either a half a pound, or a quarter pound lol. You can press the trigger by thinking about it. Safety works in this condition, and the action can be cycled with safety engaged. So not a huge deal for a precision bolt gun. I love it. Glad i bought from simmons. Glad i went with the premier rather than the b-14.
